Mount Lewis State Forrest

This is one of the oldest rainforests on Earth. This is an accessible World Heritage area of the Wet Tropics and is at an altitude of over 1200 metres. It is an important and rare place and home to many species of birds and mammals. Spectacular scenery goes hand in hand with many rare and threatened plant and animal species including the white form of the Lemuroid ringtail possum and Mount Lewis spiny crab.
